Homemade Chocolate Syrup


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking cocoa
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream

Direction In a 1 qt. microwave dish, combine the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and water until smooth. Cover and microwave on high for 3 minutes or until the mixture boils, stirring twice. Stir in butter and vanilla until blended. Serve warm over ice cream. Yield: 6 servings.
