Omaha, NE

We spent this past weekend in Omaha for a spring break get away, but the weather was anything but spring like. Friday afternoon on the drive up we hit a snow storm in Missouri and it continued through Iowa and into Nebraska. Saturday it was clear but very cold, which made our outing a little uncomfortable in the morning. It warmed up a little in the afternoon. But, during the drive back Saturday evening we hit a major snow storm in Missouri and it continued until we got home. It was pretty scary to drive in because there were cars sliding off the freeway all around us. Jordan was in Wichita spending some time with his father so he did not make this trip with us.

the bitter cold this morning served as a good teaching tool as we talked to the boys about the pioneers and Winter Quarters

unfortunately because of the weather most of the animals were indoors behind glass and pictures didn't come out very good. But, the zoo was amazing!
